SPEAKERS;Senator Brice Wiggins and Senator Mike Thompson
I have met both men in the past and both are honorable men. My take on their discussions on tax’s cutting didn’t match up as well as I would have liked, but here is my take.
They ,both Senators stated that removing the state income tax we need to take the time to make the right decisions not jump to soon. I agree it is better to be right than quick. My take on this right off the bat is a 5 percent reduction in spending would free up about 315 million dollars, closing the state income tax office would save more money, maybe with some tweaking and a sales tax increase the state income TAX could be gone with little to no pain. I am putting the numbers together (for myself).
Brice Wiggins is running against Congressman Palazzo and my brother Carl Boyanton ( others) for Federal congress seat, so I was very interested in what he had to say. I have disagreed with his voting stance on the flag of 1894, but that was his choice, with the attacks on all things southern, my belief, the timing for all conservative politicians to change this , was very wrong. All the Senators on the coast sided against the flag of 1894 so it wasn’t just Senator Brice Wiggins. My reason for bringing this up ,is for the future, if Senator Wiggins is elected as federal Congressman, how southern is he, how conservative is he, if willing to give up the state flag of 1894 without a “VOTE” of the people as promised, is he willing to fight to keep the red, white and blue flag of our land flying? Do we need another Congressman that disappears after election only to be seen for re-election. Each cycle we Republicans regain control ,we declare the great changes we will bring , only to see them fall quickly and die on the vine, with less then a whimper. I am a supporter of my brother Carl Boyanton for Congress but with many men in the field I am looking at all, we need men that can take the heat and not bend to pressure. GOD BLESS
