As I talk to people across the state of Mississippi and other parts of the nation, they wonder where the Republicans are. The democrats seem to be ruling whoever is in office. Republicans remind me of the boy who always is going to fight after school ,but never shows up for the fight. We are gutless, and I have clues; they are not Republicans; many are plants without an ounce of fight in them. We vote Republican, and they vote with the democrats; what a terrible lesson to learn. Most of us have lost faith in the voting at this time. I still have problems with the flag vote that had more votes than any other office or candidate, unbelievable.

My great great great grandfather from years ago from outside Brookhaven is turning in his grave; where the hell has all the men gone? We elect men that promise to support a vote for the flag and never had any intention of following through—the support to make Mississippi a conservative state and get worse men than democrats.

I can’t get it out of my mind that the great state of Mississippi asked its young men (as they asked me in the Vietnam war to join the American army ) to join the Confederate Army to protect the state. They did in huge numbers only to see weak-kneed modern Republicans claim they are white supremacist and need to be hidden and covered with a blanket out of sight. I remember my arrival home from Vietnam in California, protesters throwing fruit and vegetables at the bus and calling wounded soldiers the vilest names I have ever heard. I went 45 years, never mentioning my service, never stood when they asked veterans to stand, never took a dime from the federal government, not agent orange, my hate for these citizens equaled their hate for me.

Never believe, I will back down, never think I will forsake the men that served and died for our country no matter what era. Courage is what was asked for and earned. The soldiers from ole miss deserve honor, and sometime in the future, they will regain their sacred ground. GOD Bless
