I routinely leave my dirty clothes on the bathroom floor “for years,” my wife routinely complains. I decided to walk them to the “hamper” to please her, but she never noticed “except” when I left them on the floor. I figured it makes little to no difference. I think she only complains because she wants a conversation, so I leave them to give her something to say. I noticed the same Scenario with cleaning my mess in the kitchen; she never says, “oh” what a great job you did by cleaning the kitchen, so I leave it, so she can have some positive conversation to relate to “me” on the cleanliness of the kitchen. After 52 years of marriage am starting to figure all this out.
