USELESS WARS, DEATH TO THE INNOCENT

Some of my worst memories of war in Vietnam weren’t the killing of each other’s soldiers but the innocent civilians. In the middle of a firefight in a village, I killed an NVA soldier in a houch and ready a hand grenade to throw into to make sure all were dead. I noticed some movement or a shadow in the structure and pulled the pin of the grenade; my inter thoughts told me maybe I shouldn’t throw it at this moment time, at the same time I am taking fire from another direction, I dropped the pin to the grenade at the same time, without another thought threw the grenade into the house, it explodes. The aftermath of the firefight is forever etched in my mind; in investigating my grenade work, I had killed a family. Soldiers are humans and must live with their actions, good or bad, and the bad sometimes is very bad; at 18 years old, you have memories that live in you forever.

Many times going into villages and jungles we came across dead cilvialns from, altillery , air strikes and mortors the cost in my mind became to much for me to believe we were doing the right thing.

Wars never fix problems they destory them and creat new ones. I have discovered that all people that build these weapons given the chance go to war. Nuclear war is in the horizen if we are to let these types of leaders lead in the new world. In the name of the Old Sovite Empire or the American forced democracy on nations that have no desire or want.

Ukraine, the killing of the innocent, remember, these are real people. They are mothers and fathers, their kids and older men and women until the invasion sat watching television as we are in the states with very little thought of war and death.

Ask yourself with all these “wars” “conflicts” what have they accomplished, not much. The nations now that have nuclear weapons and or will have shortly ,will, at some time, in the future, cause great harm and death. PRAY FOR PEACE
