What if when President Johnson wanted to send troops into South Vietnam, and the nation’s citizens revolted, demanding them to stay in the country. What if when President Bush’s “SHOCK AND AWE” was the sound of the” people” bringing him to justice. What if we ordered our politicians to tell the truth, and if they didn’t, we would remove them. Politicians should be held to a higher standard than ordinary citizens because they, if crooked, are closer to the treasury. What if America had set the example for the world to follow by keeping our soldiers on our borders, “where they belong.” We are the only country, where the people, have the power over the government; it is our country, not the rulers. As a country, we can’t lead the world by bombing, killing, and invading countries around the globe; it is like a parent teaching his kids not to smoke as they are a three-pack-a-day type. Our leading the world must be tempered with common sense.
I find it strange that people say they support freedom of speech, but they mean “their” freedom of speech; “they” speak. It matters not that it is socialist democrat or republican capitalists; if the writer posts stories that anger someone, they can’t just skip over it; they must kill it, so it isn’t there; it must be eradicated. (asked Yall Politics) Freedom of speech is so important that it ranks right next to fredom to protect yourself and family.
We as citizens can be like sheep to the slaughter and allow men like our LT Governor of Mississippi who threaten State Republican Senators for not doing his bidding, or we can stand as men and women and demand leadership. The idea that only money buys elections must be changed by the “message” we need to get involved and elect men of truth and honor, not money.
