The political failure of Mississippi with “money for the poor” is of such magnitude to draw the good that was to be done for the poor,to nothing but bad. Most of us thank Shad White for nailing the underlings in the significant “spend of “money for the poor,” but most of the big fish will never fry.
Influential people in Mississippi, as my brother I discovered in bringing congressman Palazzo’s misdeeds to the public are far-reaching. The news media, including printed and television, is very much controlled by the money of the political branches. The ad-generated cash paid by the political parties comes with power. We sent a printed or email copy of the allegations to US Congress to almost every newspaper in Mississippi that had an address and every television station, to no avail. (excluding one small paper in north Mississippi that removed it the next day when the Office of Palazzo called) It took the FBI to investigate and the US congressional committee to vote 6 to 0 before the news media in Mississippi came on board.
My brother and I had first to discover the misdeeds. Then we had to investigate and initiate the discovery to US Congress before a single media took any interest. Over two years, the main body of Congress has never made a ruling other than the committees’ 6 to 0. The amount of work that my brother and I, as private citizens, had to do to bring this to light lets me know that catching these fellows isn’t going to happen without lots of work.
I firmly believe many of our top official’s hands have touched the “money of the poor” they may never answer or be tied to the money because any investigation may take years. I mention no names at this time because the search, as was with Congressman Palazzo, is ongoing. The smell is terrible, and the time for change has arrived. I will fight to remove both top officials of Mississippi.
