We have elected some good congressmen that are good soldiers that follow the leadership’s orders no matter where they lead. Many of the members of Congress want to do the right thing, but they aren’t the leaders of soldiers; they are one of them. We are playing a game of Russian roulette each election and hoping by electing the same type of non-leaders that, somehow, we will find our way. I have many friends in leadership positions, but I have “NO” friends that are leaders.
Leadership had led us to no security at the southern border; even when all the power was to the republicans, they did nothing; worse, they half did what they did do, which accomplished almost nothing.
Under Trump Republican leadership, we spent as much money as the Democrats, if not more, in the same time frame. That isn’t responsible leadership; this is the same non-leadership as the other party. Our speeches tell a story, our words are pretty, and the loud voices of determination sound grander but fail to deliver.
Crime is rising, with some large cities not reporting their crimes to the federal government , so it looks like we are at least not falling off the cliff, but as always, lies. Black crime is ignored to the point of stupidity and will, in the future, have to be addressed with more than hope and a few pretty words. We live in a world of make-believe; the politicians, as was known from the beginning of the Republic of the USA, could spend our nation to destruction; in the last forty or so years, these politicians will be the owners of our eventual demise.
AS sad as it sounds, Rome had a cure for a failing Senate; they would appoint a leader for some time with dictatorial powers to lead the empire, righting the ship, then he would resign, or his time would run out. This saved the Roman Empire to last a thousand years, we at 250 years can’t figure out how to get out of the rain.
I think a failed state is the responsibility of the people who have made that state fail, and those are generally the people of that country.
