America, with 31 trillion in “direct debt”, then adds unfunded social security” and “pensions, which equals almost the same amount, 30 trillion or so. ( I kept digging, finding more and more unfunded sums of money) Until someone proves me wrong that $61 trillion total owed now equals $184,848.00 per person (based on 330 million people) in the United States upon birth. I now understand why the Republicans and the Democrats are allowing illegal aliens to flood the country and spread the debt.LOL
How do we handle this debt? I would think adding this 184 thousand dollars should be in everyone’s bank account as a negative sum which is upon birth. If you decide to have a baby, you must pay for insurance policy of 184 thousand made payable to the federal government upon the death of a child; this policy must be enforced your entire life. At 18,you must have some portion of this debt, however small, to start repaying; as you get older, the amount increases as your worth becomes greater. The insurance payments to the aged should reflect the expected life expectancy.
The generation that added most of the debt should be responsible for balancing the budget and spending only what is collected. The programs that are not cost effective must be brought to bare. The federal government should not be the sugar daddy to all. The states need to reinvent schooling that best fits their state. The tax dollars for roads should once again become a state project; welfare monies should become a state affair; we should close the IRS and pick a consumtion tax to run the federal government. Close as many departments that are better handled by the states. Strange as it may sound we need to follow the “constitution”.
Closing note: congress should get no unique treatments, and all extras should be ended. Term limits, on their own, would cause the lobbyists to spend too much money to cover all the new politicians. (buying politicians will never end, we just need to get better at sending them to jail, along with the ones that take the tainted monies)If we remove the corrupted money, the crooks will abandon Washington. In DC, we have many thieves but few convictions because crooks are in charge of convicting.
