harrison county republican club meeting

We had an excellent meeting today. Doctor Witcher came not as a speaker but to make himself known to the members. My brother Carl and I met him in Pascagoula during the vaccination mandate revolt at the shipyard. He has some life challenges behind him, as we all do. I have taken a while to get behind him for governor, but the choices are few; a broken promise holds no water. I will back Doctor Witcher for Governor.

The meeting speaker: British , Douglas Carswell, Mississippi Center For Public Policy, President and CEO.

His speech was right on and to the point. He mirrors much of what I write, but somehow, he stays inside the establishment good graces; it might be his accent, I don’t know. His speech was as conservative as a conservative could be. Removing taxes, removing income tax, a he said lowing grocery taxes(but I say the poor and the old need help now) can barely feed themselves at this moment in time. We have over a billion dollars in reserve (i hope it isn’t in the bank in California ), and this still isn’t enough money for our loving politicians in Jackson. He stated that good portion of the legislators session was spent on Jackson,”the killing capitol of the USA”. He was teaching why Mississippi is on the outside of most new businesses coming south; we are certainly not a business-friendly state, but we are much better going to Washington DC begging for a handouts.

My thinking is the state in a few years will look back and wish they had saved even more money, we are headed for trouble. I truly liked his talk about removing lifetime politicians to make the new run and the old be gone. No Sex changes for kids, past, biological women only in women’s sports> This i think he said failed to make it into law. I still find it to be outrages that a man be allowed in a women sports.

As a foreigner to the state, he found many good things to say. The people, both black and white, are all great. The coast is an example for all the rest of the state to follow. He was in love with Governor Sara Huckabee of Arkansas, as she signed a bill allowing parents to decide on their child’s education instead of the state. What a novel idea that the parent of a child decides what is best for their child. I have had a few political heroes lately, this man got my attention.

Remember, I am writing this from memory. Some of it isn’t said, as he said it. “I don’t speak English.”
