DeSoto county republican (“Reagan Day Dinner”)

The love of state and country was shown tonight with some great Republican Mississippi citizens. It shows the difference between Republicans that can disagree but can come together as one when the event calls for it. The Landers Center at Horn Lake was an excellent venue for the “Reagan Day Dinner.” The Republican Club leaders orchestrating this event that was flawless to the naked eye, they are commended. ( if I had to guess, there were 400 to 500 attendees)

Congressman Trent Kelly, the speaker for the night, gave a great speech; some men are meant to lead, and Trent is one. His speech talked about the greatness of standing and running as a politician. His theme of fair play upon losing doesn’t mean you turn your hard work and loss into something negative. No matter how hard the loss is, knock your pain away, shake hands if possible, and vote Republican; a hard pill to swallow sometimes. I have played by those rules for a long time, but I wonder. The country is getting worse, and some Republican politicians’ actions are as bad as the socialist Democrats. I often wonder if they are planted on purpose. But if we don’t hold up to the truth and our ideals, we are no better than those we fight against.

I want to think of all the kind people, and there were many; let me know how much they enjoyed my writing and storytelling. Many said they were hungry for words of truth. I get a lot of great feedback, but it makes the heart warm to know many read.

Thank candidate Chris Brown, PSC of the Northern District of Mississippi, for inviting Carl and me to this special event. We both enjoyed it. (even if the six-hour trip was long.)
