When you know you’re right and take a defeat, the purpose of helping someone you care about. I’ve never understood when someone saying “he” would give no mercy; does that mean he would expect no mercy in return? I recall being bullied into a fistfight when I was 14 years old, and after showing I was kicking his butt, his defeat was at hand, and he gestured, looking for mercy. Many times in firefights, understanding the need for mercy is hard to come by after losing men. Honor and mercy walk hand in hand. Without one, the other most likely has little meaning.
I wonder if living A life with no mercy or honor is as rewarding as living with both. Do we even need either when living a lie? The mercy rule used in sports by illegal teams is it a mercy rule at all?
Is winning without following mercy or rules that must be followed even winning? If lies and winning are more significant goals than truth, honor, and compassion. If the only goal is to win no matter the truth’s cost, what have you won?
