JEFFERSON, ADAMS, HAMILTON, BURR, AND THE CHANCE TO BE HUNG.
The idea is that these men would be rebels against the strongest nation on earth at the time, “The Empire of Great Britain.” Sitting around the table talking about the future, knowing their support was around 30 percent or less in the colonies. I could imagine Jefferson talking to Adams; you know we will be called rebels and traitors. (not unlike the Civil War) The idea is that if we fail, it will be death to us all. Hamilton was young and ready to fight, having no fear, just the excitement of the coming battles for freedom. He stated we would design and build a country like no other; we would create a country where all men are free, with religion for all. The excitement in the room grew to a fever pitch as the beer and the ideas flowed.
The idea of men taking a stand against a tyrannical government to ensure freedom for all was very new. These men knew failure meant death, but it may be a small price to provide freedom to future children and the nation; no one lives forever.
As the abovementioned men believed, I believe freedom is worth dying for. Most think we have crossed into the abyss of lies and deceit. The elections we once prided ourselves in have become dark and untrusted. The government has grown so large as to devour any politician that comes into its evil light—the money is no longer in business but in the dark halls of Congress. Foreign aid has some money returned to the givers. Debt has no meaning until failure. Truth in politics is non-existent; nowhere in the government can the American people find trust.
Maybe we need men again around a table drinking beer and planning the future.?
