MONEY IN POLITICS AND SHAME,

Politics in Rome undoubtedly revolved around finances, much like the contemporary scenarios in America and Mississippi. The recent Governor race, valued at 17 million dollars, resulted in the re-election of a Republican. Interestingly, the Democrat ran primarily on a Republican platform in an attempt to secure the governorship and support the blue Republican governor (LG) who leans towards Democratic actions and votes.

The frustration arises from the disregard for common-sense individuals capable of making a positive impact, as money often overrides logical choices. Many of us have become skeptics, questioning various incidents such as the Y2K scare, the mandatory freon change, the unproven salt scare, the deceptive food pyramid, the supposed depletion of fossil fuels in 1972, and the evolving nature of flu and covid vaccination recommendations. The trust in these matters has eroded due to political influences and flawed or biased science.

The scrutiny of information sources and intentions, discerning between facts and potentially misleading content, is a valuable practice. We must caution against voting for the most financially backed candidate is a wise reminder. How can we envision addressing these challenges moving forward, and what changes would you like to see in the political landscape?
